How do I find a book using the call number?
Answer
First, you must identify the Collection in which your title resides.
Bloomsburg - Andruss Library
2nd floor- Reference Collection, Curriculum Collection (Note: The Juvenile Collection uses Dewey Decimal, Government Documents use SuDoc call numbers)
3rd floor - General Collection with call numbers beginning with a letter from A to N, Special Collections, Archives
4th floor - General Collection with call numbers beginning with a letter from P to Z, Oversized books
Lock Haven - Stevenson Library
Ground floor - Juvenile / Young Adult
1st floor- Reference Collection
2nd floor - General Collection with call numbers beginning with a letter from A to HJ
3rd floor - General Collection with call numbers beginning with a letter from HM to Z
Mansfield - North Hall Library
1st floor - Music Collection, Juvenile Collection
2nd floor - Reference Collection
3rd floor - General Collection with call numbers beginning with a letter from A to HT
4th floor - General Collection with call numbers beginning with a letter from HV to Z
Now that you know where the Collection of your book is, it is time to find your book on the shelf using its call number. A Library of Congress (LC) call number is a system of organizing similar books together. Simply put, it is a series of alternating, ascending letters and numbers.
