What is interlibrary loan?
Answer
If a Commonwealth University student, faculty or staff member needs a specific book, article, etc. that the CU Libraries do not own (or have immediate online access to), the user may use Interlibrary loan to request a copy of a book, article, etc. be sent from a library that does own the item. Articles and book chapters are usually sent electronically while physical items will be available to pick up at the Circulation Desk of your campus library.
You will receive an email when your item is available electronically or for pickup. Electronically received articles and chapters are available for download for 60 days. The loan period for physical items like books is determined by the lending library and may or may not be available for renewal.
